June - CCTV Updates
In order to improve the security of the nursery we have replaced the old camera system with a new CCTV system that now includes cameras inside and outside the nursery. Previously cameras were only outside.
A copy of the CCTV policy can be provided to you upon request either at the nursery or via email. Jenny and I are also happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the running of the
system including the maintaining of confidentiality and data protection compliance.
This is not a webcam facility so you, as parents are not able to login and view the footage. Jenny, staff members and I are able to view the footage at anytime via a monitor in the managers office of
the nursery building and I am able to view the footage remotely if the need arises. The system is in operation 24 hours a day.
Cameras are in the pre school rooms, toddler and baby rooms, the kitchen and the garden. No camera is focused on any area that requires privacy such as toilets and changing areas. Still images are not captured, it is a continuous live feed. Footage will not be distributed in any way and is purely for the purpose of monitoring the safety and wellbeing of your children, the staff and the premises.
Please feel free to contact me via email at estelle@lilliputspalding.co.uk or the nursery manager Jenny in person at the nursery or via her email at jenny@lilliputspalding.co.uk with any questions or concerns.
Friday 29th May 2020
We are really looking forward to welcoming some of our children back to Lilliput next week and just wanted to make sure that you are all aware of the changes to drop off and pick up.
We have introduced a door buzzer system to reduce the amount of people coming in and out of the nursery. Parents should press the relevant buzzer for their child’s room (unless it is before 9am, in which case ring the pre school buzzer for all children) and a member of staff will come and collect your child. They will be taken to wash their hands and then to their allocated room.
Staff and children will remain in the same groups throughout the day where possible and we will be spreading out and making use of all of the space available to us.
We will also be spending lots of time in the garden (weather dependent) so please can you make sure your child has a hat and sun cream.
Thursday 16th April 2020
Just a reminder to our Parents and carers whose children are due to start school in September 2020, you will be able to log on to your school admissions account on Thursday 16th April, to find out which school place your child has been offered.

November 2019 - Story Time
The toddlers took a trip to the local library for a fantastic craft session and some story time. We got to bring some great books back to the nursery.
March 7th 2017 - World Book Day
On Thursday, both the Children and staff enjoyed dressing up in our favurite bok characters for World Book Day.
Pre-school staff dresses up as the characters from 'Room on the broom' - a book by Axel Scheffler, which is a favourite from the pre-school children. They even acted out the story for them at story time whilst Amy read it.
June 2016 - Queen's Birthday!
We had great fun celebrating the Queen's birthday! The children made their own decorations of flags, bunting and posters and we baked our own party food for the tea party. The children played party games and decorated their own crowns to wear. It was great fun and all the staff enjoyed it too!
Pre-School - April 2016
This week pre-school have been enjoying all the new toys we have bought with the sponsorship money you all raised! Among these new toys are the puppet show, play shop, puzzles, games and light box! We have been exploring Spring this week and we have been conducting lots of experiments over the last few weeks, making coloured flowers this week, and last week we enjoyed making a shaving foam rain cloud in a jar and also a colour mixing experiment and volcano!

Over the last few weeks pre-school have been very busy! In the garden we have loved playing with coloured spaghetti in the messy tray, we also enjoyed making teddy bear pancakes on Pancake Day and Valentine's Day craft! The children are really enjoying the new mark making area and in the Owl Room too.
New Topic For Pre-School - January 2016
Pre-school have started their new topic of stickman this week. Welcome back to all of our children and families and we are pleased to welcome some new children starting this term!

Children in Need at Lilliput
We've had a fantastic couple of days raising money for Lilliput. We've dressed up as superheroes and pricesses and we think the staff loved dressing up as much as the children!
Take a look at more images on our Facebook page or our gallery.
We are hosting a Macmillon coffee morning on Friday 26th September between 9am and 10am where coffee and cake will be on sale. We hope you can join us to raise money for Macmillon Cancer Care. If you are unable to join us for coffee, the cake stall will still be available all day.
We look forward to seeing you!
New Jungle Room!
We've been hard at work at Lilliput nursery and we're proud to announce we have a new Jungle Room, which will be available to all children to play in! Please see our gallery for more images.
Improvement Plan
Over the coming months we will be working towards improving the inside and outside areas of the nursery.
The first part of our improvement plan was to move the babies to the upstairs rooms and the Pre-School children to the downstairs rooms. We felt that this would provide the babies with a safe and calm environment away from the front door and office. The move has been successfully completed and by moving the babies upstairs we have been able to provide them with a separate eating, sleeping area and play area.
The benefit to the Pre-School children of being downstairs is that we are able to provide them with a more effective social learning environment. They have free flow movement with the support of our staff to access different learning experiences across three rooms, set out in a way that is better able to support their learning and development through play. The Pre-School children also eat their meals and snacks downstairs and have better access to the outside play area.
The second part of our improvement plan was to move the main staff and managers office up to the third floor, allowing us the opportunity to turn the old office on the ground floor into a room for the shared use of all the children in the nursery with a jungle animal theme. We've also painted the hallway giving it a brighter and fresher feel.
The next part of our improvement plan is to provide a soft grassy play area outside with a sectioned off area for the babies to play safely.
October 2013 - We've been decorating at Lilliput Nursery!
